This is a important step.<\/p>\n

We need to allow Apache to read .htaccess files located under the directory. You can do this by editing the Apache configuration file:<\/p>\n

Find the section <directory \/var\/www\/html><\/code><\/span> and change AllowOverride None<\/strong> to AllowOverride All<\/strong><\/p>\n

sudo nano \/etc\/apache2\/apache2.conf\n<\/span><\/code><\/pre>\n
After editing the above file your code should be like this:<\/p>\n

In order to use mod_rewrite you can type the following command in the terminal:<\/p>\n

Restart apache2 after<\/p>\n
